Join us for the twelfth annual mayor’s forum on age-friendly Waterloo
Join us to celebrate the contributions made by seniors throughout the year, and to hear more about “Supporting a sense of belonging, with Age-Friendly Waterloo”. This online version of the mayor’s forum will be hosted on Zoom, and is the final session of the city’s successful 2020 online wellness event, “Staying healthy and well: a virtual series for seniors”.
The mayor’s forum takes place on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required, and the Zoom link will be provided upon registration.
This year’s theme is Respect and Social Inclusion. “Feeling connected and a part of the community has always been important for mental and physical health,” said Mayor Dave Jaworsky. “This year, the necessary physical distancing and separation we’re all experiencing make that sense of community and belonging more important than ever.”
The Age-Friendly Committee members will follow the Mayor’s opening remarks with reflections from 2020, highlighting the contributions of seniors in Waterloo and providing updates on Age-Friendly Waterloo initiatives.
Looking to the year ahead, committee members will discuss future resources and initiatives that continue to improve our sense of belonging in Waterloo. Following the virtual event, there will be an opportunity for attendees to provide input through a survey on EngageWaterloo.
