Waterloo City Hall (also called City Centre) is the main location for city services, customer service and council meetings.

Service counters are open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The building often stays open later for public meetings.

Parking and transit

Free 2-hour parking in the City Centre Lot.

GRT ION station is nearby at Waterloo Public Square (300 m away).

Check the GRT website for transit times and fares.


Drop box

A secure drop box is on the William Street side of the building. Use it to drop off forms or payments when service counters are closed.

Use smartphone controlled elevators

City Hall elevators can be operated with a smartphone if you cannot use the buttons.

To use this feature:

  1. Download the Contactless Access app, available on Google Play and Apple App Store.
  2. Open the app and allow location permissions.
  3. When near the City Hall elevator, open the app and press "Search"
  4. Choose up or down arrow
  5. Once inside the elevator, use the app to select your floor.
