You can request 1 of 3 report types, each confirm different property information.

2. Apply online

You must submit a separate application for each property.

When you apply, include a clear description of the proposed use to ensure accurate comments

If you are requesting a Zoning Letter of Compliance, include a current survey. If you don't have one, we will use the most recent survey on file. If there's no survey is on file, we will not provide comments on the location of building(s).

We will not start processing applications until payment is received.


3. Pay fees

Your fee is based on the report type and processing time you select when you apply online. 

We will not begin processing your Letter of Compliance report until payment has been received.

There are 3 ways to pay

Visit the Integrated Planning and Public Works (IPPW) service counter on the 2nd floor of City Hall anytime Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Mail a cheque (Payable to the City of Waterloo, memo line: Letter of Compliance Report) or money order made out to the City of Waterloo to the following address:

Drop off a cheque or money order anytime (payable to the City of Waterloo memo line: Letter of Compliance Report) at the after-hours box located outside the William Street entrance to City Hall.
