You need to renew both long-term and short-term licences annually. Follow these steps to renew.
First time applying? Apply for a long-term licence (over 30 days) or a short-term licence (30 days or less, e.g. Airbnb).

The first renewal is on March 31. After that, licences renew based on the property’s street name:
The second renewal fee will be prorated to cover the otime between March 31 and your assigned renewal date – for example, 16 months for an August 31 renewal or 20 months for a November 30 renewal.

Police record check requirements
You must include a police record check with your renewal every 5 years:
Get a police record check through Sterling Backcheck online service or your local police service.
Use our online application to renew. Pay with a credit card.
You can also renew in person:
A $50 late fee applies if you miss your renewal date.
