Exercise year-round at the walking loop at RIM Park Manulife Sportsplex and Healthy Living Centre and walking and running tracks at Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex (WMRC).
There is no fee and pre-registration is not required.

RIM Park walking loop
Get your steps in at RIM Park, where the hallways form a walking loop:
- available daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (excluding holiday closures, special events or maintenance related interruptions)
- call 519-884-5363 to check if any events will affect the walking loop's usual traffic

The distance of one complete circuit is 550 metres.

Follow these walking loop guidelines:
- no running
- remain in the walking loop hallways or walking area
- keep moving at all times
- let others know if you need to pass them
- pass on the left
- strollers are permitted
- walking poles are the only equipment allowed (no hockey sticks, balls, pucks, mats, weights or skipping ropes)

WMRC running track
There are 2 tracks at WMRC. The large four lane track at the WMRC is for running and walking. It is located around the arena seating bowl:
- walk in the inside two lanes
- jog in the outside middle lane
- run in the outside lane

The WMRC running track distances are:
- 4.3 laps on the inside lane = 1 km
- 4.2 laps of the first middle lane = 1 km
- 4 laps of the second middle lane = 1 km
- 3.9 laps of the outside lane = 1 km

Find the complete list of rules posted at the track, including:
- enter using the second-level door on the main stairwell or the elevator
- participants must be 13 years or older unless unless actively supervised by an adult (18+)
- find change rooms on the running track level
- walk no more than two people side-by-side
- a maximum of two people may push single strollers side-by-side and only in the walking lanes
- strollers must remain single file when using the jogging and running lanes
- we allow walking poles on the track
- no hockey sticks, balls, pucks, mats, weights or skipping ropes
- use proper footwear that is dry and made for running or walking (5 mm spikes are permitted)
- the track is not for commercial use, and we don't allow private or instructional lessons

WMRC walking track
The two lane small track at the WMRC is for walking only. It is located next to the Hauser Fitness Studios.

- 10.7 laps around the inside lane = 1 km
- 10 laps around the outside lane = 1 km
