COVID-19 safety procedures

Self-screening procedures

Following new provincial rules, starting March 1, proof of vaccination is no longer required to enter recreation facilities. All screening will be self-screening checks by visitors on arrival. A list of self-screening questions will be posted at all locations. Physical distancing is encouraged.

As of March 21 masks are not required indoors but will continue to be worn by staff.

Important info for using indoor rinks, gym and fieldhouse

  1. Food concessions will be re-opening gradually.
  2. Warm ups are not permitted in any common areas of the facility.
  3. No participant or guardian shall spit or blow their nose freely anywhere in the facility.
  4. If using ice, please leave the playing surface immediately after buzzer sounds.
  5. Ensure all equipment is picked up in advance of the buzzer sounding to enable an immediate exit.
  6. Participants are encouraged to fill water bottles before arriving.
  7. Groups must be adequately equipped with their own first aid supplies.

Booking a game

Equipment is available for use. All pickleball activities take place at the RIM Park Manulife Sportsplex, or Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. Review the schedule carefully when booking as it may change.

All participants must preā€register online on ActiveWaterloo. Registration will open 72 hours prior to each pickleball time. 


RIM Park schedule

For spring 2022:

  • games will be played with 52 people, 4 per court
  • players get 1 hour and 20 minutes of continuous play, rotation amongst courts is allowed

  • 9:00 to 10:20 a.m.

Thursday

  • 9:00 to 10:20 a.m.
  • 10:30 to 11:50 a.m.

Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex schedule

For spring 2022:

  • games will be played with 20 people, 4 per court
  • players get 1 hour and 20 minutes of continuous play, rotation amongst courts is allowed
  • Drill sessions are available on Monday from 12:00 to 12:50 p.m., pre-registration required

  • Exclusive court use: 1:00 to 2:20 p.m.

Tuesday

  • Intermediate: 10:30 to 11:50 a.m.
  • Intermediate: 12:00 to 1:20 p.m.

Wednesday

  • Beginner: 9:00 to 10:20 a.m.
  • Beginner: 10:30 to 11:50 a.m.
  • Family: 5:00 to 6:20 p.m.
  • Open play: 6:30 to 7:50 p.m.
  • Open play: 8:00 to 9:20 p.m.

Thursday

  • Intermediate: 10:30 to 11:50 a.m.
  • Intermediate: 12:00 to 1:20 p.m.

Saturday

  • Open play: 9:00 to 10:20 a.m.
  • Family: 10:30 to 11:50 a.m.
  • Open play: 5:00 to 6:20 p.m.
  • Open play: 6:30 to 7:50 p.m.

Sunday

  • Open play: 1:30 to 2:50 p.m.
  • Family: 3:00 to 4:20 p.m.
