Request an annual inspection, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) inspection, or Ontario Fire Code compliance inspection through Waterloo Fire Rescue.

What inspections we provide
Waterloo Fire Rescue provides inspections to meet Ontario Fire Code requirements:
- annual inspections – confirm buildings meet Fire Code standards
- AGCO inspections – required for Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario licensing
- Fire Code compliance inspections – confirm a building meets Fire Code standards for its occupancy or business use, including building approvals, life safety studies, alternative solutions, and annual fire drills for vulnerable occupancies
Waterloo Fire Rescue enforces the Ontario Fire Code under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act.
How to request an inspection
Email fire@waterloo.ca with your inspection request.
Include:
- the type of inspection (annual, AGCO, or Fire Code)
- your contact information
- the building address
A fire prevention inspector will contact you to confirm the appointment once we receive payment.
Fee
There is a minimum one-hour charge of $89.09 for inspections.
If the inspection takes longer than an hour, additional hourly fees apply.
You must pay before we can process your request:
- pay by cheque, made payable to the City of Waterloo
- deliver payment in person to Waterloo Fire Rescue Headquarters
