Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP)

This leadership program combines training and a camp placement:

• training is lead by YLDP coordinator
• develop skills in teamwork, communication and leading activities
• YLDP levels 1 and 2 complete a 2-week placement
• YLDP level 3 complete a 3-week placement
• youth who are 13 are placed at Fun Centre locations (WMRC or RIM Park)
• youth who are 14+ may be placed at either a Fun Centre or day camp location

Placements take place at:

• • Albert McCormick Community Centre (AMCC)
  • Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex (WMRC)
  • RIM Park

There are 3 levels of the YLDP. Returning participants can advance each year to build new skills and take on more responsibility.

Complete consent forms

Consent forms are mandatory. Fill out the online youth leadership consent form by May 15, 2026.

Before the program starts

Complete these steps:

• submit the consent form by May 15, 2026
• review the youth leadership info package (PDF) for program details and expectations

Refunds and withdrawals

You can withdraw with a refund or credit if you:

• submit your request at least 14 days before your program start date
• accept that refunds are pro-rated and subject to a 10% administrative fee
• understand that credits under $25 will stay on your account
