Shinny, Stick and Puck and Powerskating

Develop your hockey skills at RIM Park Manulife Sportsplex.

  • Shinny – informal pick-up hockey games
  • Stick and Puck – practice stick handling, puck control and skating

Adult shinny

Join a non-competitive, informal game for players 18+:

  • bring your own skates, sticks, and pucks
  • nets are available
  • everyone must wear CSA-approved helmet, face and eye protection and gloves

Book online up to 7 days in advance. Always check for schedule before you go.


Parent and Child Stick and Puck

Parents and guardians can help kids practice hockey skills in a relaxed setting:

  • bring your own skates, sticks, and pucks
  • game play is allowed
  • nets are available
  • 1 skating adult must be present for every 4 children
  • everyone must wear CSA-approved helmet, face and eye protection and gloves

Adult Stick and Puck

Players 18+ can practice skating skills and stick and puck handling:

  • bring your own skates, sticks and pucks
  • game play is allowed
  • nets are available for use
  • everyone must wear CSA-approved helmet, face and eye protection and gloves

Powerskating clinics

The City of Waterloo and Twin City Hockey Skating School run pre-season clinics at RIM Park in August:

  • two-week program on weekday evenings
  • skill-based groups with certified instructors
