Moses Springer Community Centre

In Step 3 of the Reopening Ontario plan, indoor facilities are slowly re-opening.

Outdoor facilities are open with restrictions according to provincial regulations. Spaces such as fields, diamonds, and cricket pitches are bookable and must be in compliance with all COVID-19 protocols.

Moses Springer Community Centre is located at 150 Lincoln Road. It is currently open for pre-booked swim activities. View our swimming page to learn more.

The facility can be reached at 519-885-4530. If you're paying for programs, please pre-register through activeWaterloo during COVID. We normally accept cash, cheque, debit, credit and FitPass.

Parking is free for facility users. The closest Grand River Transit stops (4059 and 4060) are located 110m to the east the facility, near Lincoln Road and Ellis Crescent North. Check the GRT website for transit times and fees.

Entrance procedure

Recreation centres are currently open for pre-booked programs, appointments and rentals only. Rules for all facilities and activities include:

  • complete mandatory pre-screening through your recreation service provider
  • wait outside at marked entrance to be greeted by facility ambassador
  • masks required except during programming
  • no spectators permitted
  • no access to showers or change rooms - arrive dressed for the program
  • no re-entry after leaving facility

Specific procedures are below.

 Procedures for visiting Moses Springer Pool

Per the Region of Waterloo's Face Covering Bylaw, masks must be worn when entering the building. Masks may be removed to participate in your swim. Children under the age of five and those unable to wear a mask are exempt.

  1. Programs have a maximum capacity based on physical distancing requirements. Registration is encouraged as walk-in space is limited. Register at
    Note: unaccompanied drop-in customers 11-15 years old will need to be pre-registered by a parent/guardian on Active Waterloo to consent to the terms and conditions of the program.

  2. Come with your bathing suit on as no indoor showers and no change facilities are available at this time.
  3. Arrive at the front doors labelled "Swim Entrance" 15 minutes before your scheduled start time so staff can check your COVID screening form, approve and sanitize your equipment and assign wristbands as needed. Wear your mask and stay physically distant as you wait in line. 

  4. Entrance to the facility will begin 5 minutes before the start of the program. Participants will shower on the pool deck and proceed to their designated program area.

  5. It is highly recommended that swim participants bring a large gym bag in which all belongings can be left on the pool deck during the program.
  6. Washroom facilities are available off the pool deck beside the lifeguard office. This area will be limited to one customer at a time.

  7. Participants will have 5 minutes at the end of the program to leave the pool deck. Exit the pool deck at the far side gate near the waterslide area. Before you leave the deck make sure that your face is dried off and your mask is placed back on.

  8. Once you leave the pool deck, you will not be permitted back.

  9. There will be no equipment or seating available for use. Swimmers may bring their own portable chairs and equipment for the program. You will be assigned a physical circle to keep your chair and personal belongings in. Equipment should be kept with you at all times, in your circle and not be shared with people not part of your household.

  10. Please note the directional signage on the pool area and other areas you may be in.

  11. Reminder to please review our swim admission standards.

  12. No refunds will be given once the program has started. Account credits will be provided should the program be cancelled in advance due to unforeseen circumstances.

  13. There is no spectating at Moses Springer.

There is an ice rink with four change rooms and an eight-lane outdoor pool with two waterslides, a ramp and stair leading into the shallow end. The pool has two change rooms, a shaded area and picnic tables. The community centre offers a community room available for rent.

The Laurel Trail runs through the Moses Springer Community Centre grounds and provides access to uptown Waterloo. Heading east connects you to Hillside Park which leads to the Forwell Trail and provides access to north Waterloo.
