Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex

WMRC is our primary uptown rec facility, with a large swimming complex, arena, indoor track and community spaces.

The Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex (often referred to as WMRC or the Rec Complex) is located at 101 Father David Bauer Drive. It is open daily from 6 a.m. to midnight.

Parking is free. Check the Grand River Transit website for public transit locations, times and fees.

Customer service is available at 519-886-1177. If paying for rec programs, we accept cash, cheque, debit, credit and FitPass.

Special events

To celebrate WMRC's 25th anniversary we will be hosting monthly activities in 2019. Schedules will be posted in our calendar and updates will be provided on the City of Waterloo's social media channels.

Rentals

Most spaces in WMRC are available for rent. From small meetings to birthday parties and banquets, the facility offers flexible spaces that can suit many needs.

Amenities

Swimplex

The indoor swimming complex (what we call the ‘swimplex') has swimming pools, a diving tower, springboards, a waterslide and a splash area for children. Male, female and alternate-needs change rooms are available. 

Sunlife Financial Arena 

Waterloo's largest arena has an Olympic-sized ice surface and maximum capacity of 4,400 spectators (3,400 seated). It has eight dressing rooms and two referee rooms with showers, a first aid room and a press box. 

Meeting rooms 

There are three community meeting rooms that can accommodate between 25 to 40 people. 

Indoor track 

The indoor track is on the second floor and free to use from May to October. From November to April it's a mix of free and paid use. The track is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Check our indoor track page for schedules and fees.
