City of Waterloo unleashes temporary dog park in Waterloo ParkA temporary leash-free dog park is now open in Waterloo Park West, near the Westmount Road entrance.
The Waterloo Park West Dog Park is 1,670 square metres in size, has one fully fenced area, and is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
Ontario Rewards Kitchener and Waterloo with nearly $16.7 Million through the Building Faster FundWATERLOO REGION — The Ontario government is awarding a combined total of nearly $16.7 million to the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo through the second round of the Building Faster Fund, which provides funding to municipalities that achieve at least 80 per cent of their provincially designated housing targets.
Temporary road closures for move-in weekendThe City of Waterloo extends a warm and neighbourly welcome to all the new and returning students at Conestoga College, University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University.
Students will be moving in beginning August 29 and through the long weekend.

City of Waterloo advocates for local priorities at annual AMO conferenceCity of Waterloo Councillors and senior staff, led by Mayor Dorothy McCabe, were in Ottawa this week for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference meeting with provincial Ministers and representatives to advocate for Waterloo’s top priorities including the new hospital, housing infrastructure and economic growth opportunities.
