Mayor McCabe announces launch of Community Conversations During the 2023 State of the City, Mayor Dorothy McCabe announced the launch of a new initiative, Community Conversations.
As part of the implementation of the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, Community Conversations will be an opportunity for staff, Council and community members to collaborate and bring the plan to life.

Eight Waterloo students win the 2023 Council for a Day contestThe Council for a Day contest has returned after a three-year pause, inspiring a wave of Grade 5 students to share their thoughts to make life in Waterloo even better. The winning students will present their ideas at the State of the City on April 27 and spend the day with Mayor McCabe while serving as Council for the day.
Waterloo wants your feedback on improving shared sidewalk snow clearingThe City of Waterloo is looking for feedback to improve the current model of sidewalk snow clearing, where both the City and private property owners are responsible for clearing snow from sidewalks. City-wide snow clearing of all sidewalks is not being considered at this time.

Summary of charges from March 17 unsanctioned street gatheringThe City of Waterloo issued 18 provincial offences notices related to noise and another 12 for nuisances as a result of an unsanctioned street gathering on March 17.
In addition, members of the city's Municipal Enforcement Services division issued:
41 lot maintenance orders23 lot maintenance clean ups, and916 parking tickets.
