Amoeba pattern cocktail glassware
around 1950
Cocktail culture exploded throughout North America in the 1950s and 1960s. Owning the right cocktail glassware was essential for every host. The basic set contains three types of glasses – rock tumblers, highball, and cocktail. The mid-century amoeba or boomerang pattern was a classic 1950s atomic era design. This glassware set was part of a local gas station promotion. Returning customers could collect an entire glassware set just by filling up their cars with gasoline.
