Time to change your clocks and the batteries in all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms (4)Waterloo Fire Rescue recommends residents replace the old batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms when they change their clocks this weekend for the start of daylight saving time.
“In order for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to work, they need to have fresh batteries,” says fire Chief Richard Hepditch.

The Uptown Façade CIP is open to property owners or businesses in uptown Waterloo specifically, who plan to update their building's façade to improve the streetscape and/or conserve heritage features.

Lifting of vaccine proof requirement and capacity limits at Waterloo recreation facilitiesAs the province of Ontario continues to gradually ease public health measures, the following changes will be in effect at City of Waterloo recreation facilities beginning Tuesday, March 1 2022:
proof of vaccination will no longer be required for entry at city recreation facilities
capacity limits will be lifted
visitors are to passively screen before entering the facilities; please self-screen for symptoms and stay home if you are symptomatic
Visitors will still be required to wear face masks at all times, except for participants during play or on the bench. Physical distancing and continuing to follow all Public Health advice is still encouraged, and all visitors are asked to please be respectful of one another as we return to full capacity in our facilities.
