Recreation facilities will reopen in a controlled, gradual manner to provide recreation services and programs to support city-affiliated organizations and summer camps only.
Waterloo Fire Rescue closes temporary stationAs the City of Waterloo and province moves into the reopening and recovery phase, the temporary fire station at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex (WMRC) is no longer required.
“We are maintaining enhanced measures at Station One that support required physical distancing, so we no longer need the temporary site at WMRC,” said Chief Richard Hepditch.

Waterloo City Hall reopening on Monday as part of gradual reopening planIn alignment with Phase 2 of Ontario's Framework for Re-opening the Province and the June 8 provincial announcement permitting the opening of additional City amenities and facilities, the City of Waterloo and other local municipalities will gradually reopen some facilities in the days and weeks ahead. City Hall and the Service Centre will reopen to the public on Monday, June 15 with physical distancing guidelines in place.
