Time to change your clocks and the batteries in all smoke and carbon monoxide alarmsWaterloo Fire Rescue recommends residents replace the old batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms when they change their clocks this weekend for the start of daylight saving time.
“In order for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to work, they need to have fresh batteries,” says Fire Chief Richard Hepditch.

City of Waterloo recreation in Red-Control zoneWith Waterloo Region moving into the Red-Control zone of the provincial response framework, the City of Waterloo will gradually re-start recreation programs, services and amenities according to the zone guidelines and protocols.
Limited recreation programming will begin on Thursday, February 18, with the staggered opening of programs, facilities and services over the following 7 to 10 days.
