Moses Springer pool and other outdoor recreation opening in Step 1Moses Springer outdoor pool is the place to be this summer, as the City of Waterloo safely and gradually reopens our recreation facilities according to the provincial plan.
“Our aquatics team has lined up some exciting programming to welcome swimmers back to Moses Springer pool,” says Gus Siountres, Manager of Aquatics.
City Hall reopening and other services to restart on MondayFollowing the provincial announcement of the Roadmap to Reopen yesterday, the City of Waterloo will reopen City Hall, its Service Centre and other admin buildings and fire halls doors. Residents may make appointments or attend on a walk up basis.
2021 virtual home smoke alarm campaign kicks offThe summer season is just around the corner and we are ready to launch our 2021 virtual home smoke alarm program.
Prior to COVID, our firefighters would visit 4500 homes in Waterloo every summer and educate residents on home fire and life safety.
Nancy Werner is the City of Waterloo Senior of the YearNancy Werner is one of the City of Waterloo's tireless volunteers whose enthusiasm and commitment ensure the success of the programs she supports.
For over 20 years, Nancy has been a volunteer, and for five years, coordinator, of the Breakfast Club at Cedarbrae Public School in the Sunnydale community of Waterloo.

Waterloo courts and skatepark to open, public washroom map now availableFollowing the provincial announcement of the Roadmap to Reopen yesterday, the City of Waterloo will be ready to open tennis courts, basketball courts and the Waterloo Park skatepark effective Saturday, May 22, 2021. Park shelters and other facility rentals are not yet available.
Residents advised to limit fireworks celebrations this Victoria DayThe City of Waterloo, along with area municipalities across the region, remind residents to keep safety top of mind this Victoria Day.
To meet physical distancing guidelines, public firework displays will not be permitted and no public events will be held across the region for the May long weekend (May 22-24).
