Virtual Ride-a-Bus event in WaterlooThe Waterloo Age Friendly Committee has partnered with Grand River Transit (GRT) to offer virtual Ride-a-Bus training and orientation to older adults in the community. While everyone should continue to observe the stay-at-home order issued by the province, these virtual Zoom sessions on how to use the bus and ION system provide practical information for the future.
Waterloo delivers second round of financial support for neighbourhoodsThe City of Waterloo is pleased to provide a second round of financial support for neighbour-led community building initiatives that support connections during the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically through the winter and spring 2021.
In November 2020, the city introduced funds for neighbours to continue building connections in ways that align with COVID-19 related public health direction and focus on neighbourhood initiatives specifically through the winter.
Local municipalities adjust operations as provincial stay-at-home orders take effectEarlier this week, the Province of Ontario declared a second state of emergency and issued stay-at-home orders that went into effect Thursday. Waterloo Region cities and townships continue to work together with local police, public health officials and the Region of Waterloo to meet the new provincial public health measures and to communicate stay-at-home orders.
